You must know that you can never get what has not been destined for you.

In what way shall I describe this world whose beginning is grief and whose end is destruction! The lawful actions performed here have to be accounted for, while for the forbidden once there is punishment. Whoever is rich here faces mischief and whoever is poor gets grief. One who hankers after it does not get it. If one keeps away from it then it advances towards him. If one sees through it, it would bestow him sight, but if one has his eye on it then it would blind him.

A promise is considered as a debt, the liability to pay it back depends on one's morals.

He who is ignorant of something tries to find fault in it.

Do not run after the one who tries to avoid you.

THE MOST BLESSED OF PEOPLE IN THIS LIVELIHOOD ARE THOSE WHOM ALLAH ALMIGHTY HAS GRANTED CONTENTMENT TO, AND THOSE WHO WERE GIVEN A RIGHTEOUS SPOUSE.

Praise be to Allah who established Islam and made it easy for those who approach it and gave strength to its columns against anyone who tries to overpower it. Allah has made it a source of peace for him who clings to it, safety for him who enters it, an argument for him who speaks about it, a witness for him who fights with its help, a light for him who provides it, sagacity for him who exerts, a sign of guidance for him who perceives, sight for him who resolves, a lesson for him who seeks advice, salvation for him who testifies, confidence for him who trusts, pleasure for him who entrusts, and a shield for him who endures.

THE BELIEVER
He is hard on himself and very lenient to others. He bears hardships in this life to attain eternal comfort and peace. He never wrongs a fellow being. If he avoid anybody it is to retain his piety and uprightness. If he forms contract with anybody it is on account of his kindness and clemency.

Be an enemy to the oppressors and a helper to the oppressed.

Do not be sorry about anything in this world that you have been denied.

A sage sees things through his insight, a fool through his illusive vision.

Who does not pursue his desires will be free.

Time wears out bodies, renews hopes, brings death nearer and takes away aspirations. Whoever gets anything from the world lives in anxiety for holding it and whoever loses anything passes his days grieving over the loss.

See the bad inside yourself, and see the good inside others.

Remember that this world which you covet so ardently and attempt to acquire so earnestly, and which sometimes annoys you and sometimes pleases you so much, is neither your home nor a permanent destination. You have not been created for it, nor invited to it as your resting-place. It shall neither remain with you forever, nor will you remain in it eternally. If it has enticed you away with its charms, it has also warned and cautioned you of real dangers lurking in its folds. Take account of the warnings it has given you and do not be seduced or deceived by its allurements. Let these warnings frighten you from being too greedy to possess it. Try to advance towards the place where you are invited for eternal bliss and turn your face away from the vicious world.
