You know,it's not allowed to address Ali with a.s.
ReplyDelete1. From the Qur’an
DeleteAllah Himself sends salām (peace) upon righteous servants, not only Prophets:
“Peace be upon those who follow guidance.” — Qur’an 20:47
“Peace be upon the family of Yāsīn.” — Qur’an 37:130
“Peace be upon His chosen servants.” — Qur’an 37:181
👉 These verses show that salām is not restricted to Prophets only — it extends to Allah’s chosen servants. Shia scholars use this as evidence that Ahl al-Bayt (including Imam Ali) deserve A.S.
2. Hadith: Sending Salām on Ahl al-Bayt
The famous Ṣalāt al-Ibrāhīmiyya (recited in every Salah):
“O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad …”
— (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Book of Prophets, Hadith 3370)
Here, the Prophet ﷺ himself instructed Muslims to invoke peace/blessings on his family (Ahl al-Bayt). This is a foundation for saying A.S. after their names.
3. Shia Sources
In Shia hadith collections (e.g. al-Kāfī by Shaykh al-Kulaynī, Bihār al-Anwār by Allāmah al-Majlisī), the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt are frequently mentioned with ʿalayhi as-salām as part of the transmitted wording.
Example: al-Kāfī, Vol. 1, narrations about Imamate, address Imam Ali with ʿalayhis-salām.
4. Scholarly reasoning
Shia scholars argue: since Imam Ali is not just a companion but a divinely appointed Imam, it is proper to address him with the same salutation as Prophets.
Sunni scholars generally reserve A.S. for Prophets, but many acknowledge that saying salām upon Ahl al-Bayt is permissible because the Qur’an and Hadith command salutation upon them.
✅ Simple takeaway
Qur’an: uses salām for Prophets and righteous servants.
Hadith: Prophet ﷺ told us to send peace and blessings upon Ahl al-Bayt.
Shia view: Therefore, calling Imam Ali ʿalayhis-salām (A.S.) is religiously justified.

DeleteOn Knowledge: "Knowledge is better than wealth. Knowledge guards you, while you guard wealth." (Saying 147)
On the Soul and Love: While less direct, his sermons are filled with the concept of love and devotion to God, such as: "The source of patience is faith, and the fruit of faith is conviction, and the fruit of conviction is submission, and the fruit of submission is acceptance of the divine decree."
